college is so frantic, there is hardly time for personal reflection. i am learning so much, i can't tell if it's relevant to my own art anymore. sure know i don't have much time for it. just trying to find joy in reading about david, drouais, and girodet. at least crow makes it interesting. slacking on my research and my directed studies. supposed to be researching for an upcoming photography exhibit at the CAM. slowly becoming more involved. i think i just feel slighted, and guilty at my own lack of photography, that im revolting against whatever i can when really all i need to do is turn my camera on, and then i'd probably do a mental 180. it sure does travel with me. i think i need to revert to film again. i am purposely sabotageical.

this all sounds so self centered and loathing, and though i will never deny my absorption in self, i admit these are fleeting thoughts i have at this moment that i should probably cling to a little tighter. i'm yearning for a video project. i receive my new laptop on saturday, which should open up worlds of possibilities.

the start of my summer break. i have 2 weeks before fall semester starts. two weeks to clean, organize, and purge my belongings. two weeks to be inspired, take photos, and edit. two weeks to dress up and go out late. two weeks to relax and enjoy books, the sun, and friends.

speaking of fun. i just made these delicious morsels 10 minutes ago. here is the recipe: cheesecake stuffed strawberries . i substituted fat free cream cheese in mine.


i have reloaded my film camera and have been snapping away.


i have also started playing around on some other inspirational sites" piccsy, weheartit, flickrista, and of course stumbleupon i have put links to my pages on these sites to the right.

ah! fun.

my sister had a photography project due in school... and so, of course, she asked for my help. i didn't help her at all with the projects guidelines. but instead took the camera from her and we started messing around with an old minolta flash with my digital and shot some pretty nifty stuff.

i slept in my good friend's airstream last night. rawr that thing is awesome. vintage. 1950 something. but who paints the inside half baby room pink and half discount blue? he and i might start doing mini-road trips with it. adventure time...

before july ends tonight, i'll re-visit the beginning. i went to a hot dog eating competition and a watermelon eating contest. i dig how so many holidays are focused around food.

so it's day one...ground zero....

i bought these "learn french in your car" cds about a year ago on ebay and today i decided that i would start learning. it's hard. i can't even get past the 1st lesson. it furthers my belief that i am a visual learner. dammit. i'll have to re-sell the cds on ebay.

i went to the thrift store today and decided i will be wearing oversized 3x womens shirts with leggings... or baggy ass, torn and weathered mens jeans with white tanks. everything else can go...
